on love

I was reading a fellow blogger, Becoming Sarah's blog this morning and found myself thinking about what it is to love.

There are so many different kinds of love... The way you love your parents or siblings. The way you love a pet. Your friends. A passing love interest. A committed lover, whether it be a partner, husband or wife. But nothing can prepare you for the kind of love you feel for your child. You can never know until you are there.

It's the kind of love that grows with each passing minute, even in the minutes you are at your wits end. It's the kind of love that keeps you awake at night, staring at this peaceful creature that you created. It's the kind of love that makes you talk constantly about your child, paying no mind to whether or not those on the listening end care. It's the kind of love that makes your heart ache when they are sad or sick. It's the kind of love that makes you laugh like you've never laughed before at this silly little person turning around in circles with a towel over her head, as if you've never seen something so funny in your life. It's the kind of love that makes you invincible... All you need are these little people to survive, everything else in life seems so unimportant.

It's the most magnificent kind of love.

  1. Thanks for leaving a comment on my preggo craving post!
The pita chips and onion dip sounds AWESOME!
You'll love the cookie dough. It is so satisfying with a glass of milk! The store bought is safer than homemade because of the eggs.
